Tips For Getting Bulk Legos

By Chris Frost

When a person first begins putting together their Lego project they soon find that there is a lot of things that can be done with Legos. Before long, one finds that they are in need of more Legos and are soon looking for a Lego connection. Finding a place to get bulk Legos becomes important as one continues using their Legos for expansion and invention of new things to do with them.

Even people who buy a Lego kit or theme usually need more Legos to extend the theme. Kits contain a specific number of Lego parts. If a part is lost, one needs to replace it to keep the theme in tact. When a lot of pieces and parts are lost, one needs a bulk supply of parts and pieces.

As a person becomes more involved in Legos they tend to take up a room, garage, or house very quickly. Depending on how many family members are involved in the Lego construction, pieces can get lost very easily as they are spread out.

Bulk Legos are a great way to replenish one's supply of Legos. If a person needs a special color or part for their Lego projects, they will need to get more creative in finding a resource. But, for the most part it is pretty easy to find bulk Legos. In the case of a part that is special or specific, one can usually call Lego and they will know where the part is or have it on hand.

If an individual doesn't really care what color the Legos are, and doesn't need specific parts, the new 1200 Bulk pack has different sizes of Legos as well as fixtures and implements. The pieces are not themed and will not have all of the colors available. But as an extra set of Legos for general purposes this is a great addition to a collection.

Some theme bulk packs are sold. These are usually in 600 or 800 packs and contain the most lost parts of that theme. The Star Wars theme is one of the more popular bulk packs being sold. For specific parts for a theme, one can contact Lego and if it's not a really old theme, they will probably have the pieces that a person is looking for.

When Legos are needed and a theme is not involved a person can buy bulk Legos from the local Lego store or visit an on-line site to get multi-colored bricks of different sizes and colors. Many of the on-line sites sell used Legos at a lower cost than new ones so if budget is an issue this is the route to take.

If a person needs a color other than red, yellow, green, blue, black, or white, then it will be necessary to get creative. One option is to buy a bulk pack and then sell the pack after picking out the color(s) that are needed at auction. If doing this, it will be good to know that ten pounds of Legos equals about 3000 different sized pieces. The other option is to buy the bulk pack and give it to a family member after getting the color(s) out that are needed. The family member will appreciate the gift and probably won't notice that some of the colors are missing. - 31376
